Mahindra XUV300 Features and Engine Specs Revealed
The long-awaited Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV will officially go on sale in the Indian market on February 14, 2019. The compact SUV is claimed to be equipped with a range of segment-first features. Ahead of the launch, new details about the Mahindra XUV300 have been surfaced online. Interested buyers can pre-book the SUV at a token amount of Rs 11,000, while deliveries will commence on the date of the launch. It will directly rival the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and the upcoming Hyundai Styx.
The Mahindra XUV300 top-end variant is equipped with front parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a factory-fitted electric sunroof and seven airbags. The report claims that the diesel XUV300 will be equipped with micro-hybrid technology (top-spec W8 and W8 (O) trims), in-built navigation, Smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), heated ORVMs and smart steering with Comfort, Normal and Sport modes.
The Mahindra XUV300’s variants will also have external differences. The base W4 model gets LED tail-lamps, but misses out on the wheel covers for the 16-inch steel wheels and a chrome finish on the grille. The W6 variant gets both the features missing in the base model along with black roof rails. The top-spec model gets projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and wing mirror-integrated LED turn indicators.
It will be made available in six exterior colour options – Blue, Red, Orange, Black, White and Silver.Mahindra XUV300 – Top 10 Things To KnowDual front airbags, four disc brakes and ABS with EBD will come as standard, the top-spec W8 gets hill-hold assist, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and front and rear fog lamps and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The top-spec W8 (O) will come with several comfort and convenience features like instrument console with multiple colour illumination options, leatherette seats, driver’s height adjustable seat, push-button start, height adjustable front seatbelts, a tyre pressure monitoring, tyre positioning display, reverse camera, auto-dimming IRVM, automatic headlamps and wipers, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, a rear seat armrest and cruise control.
The new Mahindra XUV300 is based on the SsangYong’s X100 platform that also underpins the Tivoli SUV. The SUV comes with the longest wheelbase in the segment, measuring at 2,600rpm. The SUV has a boot space of 257-litres, which can be extended up to 625-litres by folding the rear seats. The top-end model rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 215/55 R17 tyres.The Mahindra XUV300 will be powered by a newly developed 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which will offer segment-leading 200Nm of torque. The diesel version will receive the 1.5-litre engine that powers the Marazzo. This engine produces 123bhp of power and 300Nm of torque.
