Pontiac Tempest & Tempest Le Mans brochure, 1962. Developed under Pontiac’s chief engineer and general manager John Z. DeLorean, the brochure highlights the car’s transaxle set-up (rear mounted gearbox). The spec sheet shows the availability of the Buick alloy V8 engine which was later licensed to Rover. All of these features were dropped for the second generation Tempest
