Triumph Dolomite Sprint brochure (Dutch market), 1975. The Sprint version of Triumph’s mid-range saloon used the world’s first series production multi-valve engine. Unusually the 16 valve head had a single overhead camshaft. It remained in production until 1980 and though a replacement (the SD2) had been planned British Leyland’s precarious financial position meant it never made it into Triumph’s showrooms.
