Land Rover Defender 130 Hearse, 2019. Prince Philip’s coffin is to be carried in a specially modified Land Rover pick-up designed by the Prince himself. He has been working on the vehicle for the past 18 years with work being completed in 2019. The vehicle will take his coffin in a slow procession from the state entrance of Windsor Castle through the grounds to the west steps of St George’s Chapel. Originally, the Land Rover would have transported the Duke 22 miles from Wellington Arch in central London to Windsor, but the coronavirus pandemic curtailed the plans for military parades in honour of Philip through the streets of both the capital and the Berkshire town.
