Bizzarrini Sciabola, 1971. The American Motors AMX III was prepared for series production by Giotto Bizzarrini. The prototypes were built by the newly founded company Autofficina Salvatore Diomante, founded by Salvatore Diomante who had been plant manager at Automobili Bizzarini. When American Motors pulled the plug on the AMX III project Bizzarrini hoped to continue to produce the car and the number 6 prototype was completed with many Fiat parts (the rear lights are from the 850 Spider). A brochure was produced and it was exhibited as late as the 1976 Turin Motor Show as the Bizzarrini Sciabola but never progressed beyond a single prototype
