Mini Cooper Safari Rally Car, 1995. On display at Transport World, a remarkable classic Mini that was built by Robert Plant Engineering (RPE Motorsport) and is a fully-documented Group A Rally Car having originally been put together for the 1995 ‘Network Q Rally of Great Britain’. More famously it went on to compete in the East African Safari Rally in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002 and finally in 2003 where it earned the nick-name ‘Du Du’ (Swahili for little insect). The car was restored to its former glory, pretty much as it was for its first Safari attempt in 1997 when it was sponsored by Corgi Models, by Malcolm Huxley and Anne Sealand (Annemal Motorsports).
